How to Share an Excel File for Multiple Users on Office 365

Whether you are a business owner or an individual, working with Microsoft Office 365 can help streamline your workflow. Being able to share files with multiple users is one of the most advantageous features of Office 365, allowing teams to work collaboratively on projects from different locations. If you’re new to Office 365, learning how to share an Excel file with multiple users is essential. Let’s get into it!

Step 1: Logging In and Opening the File

The first step when sharing a file is logging in to your account and locating the Excel file that you want to share. Once you have located the file, click on it to open it. You will see a few options at the top of the page; choose “Share” and then select “Invite people” from the drop-down menu. This will take you to a window where you can add in email addresses of those with whom you’d like to share your file.

Step 2: Inviting People and Setting Permissions

Once you have entered the email address(es) of those who need access to this document, click “Send” in order for them to receive an invitation from Office 365 that allows them access. The next step is setting up permissions for each user who will be accessing this document. There are various levels of permissions that can be set such as editing/viewing only, sharing documents outside of the organization, etc., so make sure that each user has the correct level of permission for what they need access for.

Step 3: Notifying Users

Now that all users have been invited and their permissions have been set up correctly, it’s time to notify them that they now have access to this document. You can do this by sending out a quick email letting everyone know that they now have visual/editing rights and how they can find it online – usually by taking them directly into their OneDrive account where all shared documents are stored securely online.

Sharing files for multiple users on Office 365 is easy when done correctly! Make sure that each user has been invited properly with their correct permission settings so no one runs into any issues while trying to access or edit this document. By following these steps carefully, not only will you save yourself time but also ensure that all relevant parties have secure access without running into any potential security risks! Good luck!
