Connecting Google Analytics to WordPress – A Step-By-Step Guide

Are you a WordPress user who wants to gain more insight into your website’s visitors and performance? If so, Google Analytics is the perfect tool for the job. In this blog post, we’ll show you how to connect Google Analytics to your WordPress site in just a few easy steps.

Create a Google Account

The first step in connecting your WordPress site to Google Analytics is to create a Google account. You can do this by going to google.com and clicking on “Sign Up” at the top right corner of the page. From there, you will be asked to fill out some basic information such as your name, email address and date of birth. Once you have done this, you will have successfully created your new Google account!

Create a New Property in Your GA Account

Once you have created your new Google account, it’s time to create a new property in your GA account. To do this, go to analytics.google.com and click on “Create Property” at the top left of the page. From there, fill out all of the required information about your website – make sure that you are as accurate as possible here! Once you have finished filling out all of the details about your website, click “Create” and then confirm that everything is correct before moving on to the next step.

Install Plugin for Tracking Code

Next up is installing a plugin for tracking code onto your WordPress site so that it can communicate with GA correctly and accurately track data from visitors on your website. One popular plugin that many people use is called MonsterInsights; it’s free and easy-to-use with lots of features that make tracking data from visitors easier than ever before! Once you have installed MonsterInsights (or any other tracking code plugin), go back into your GA account and copy/paste the tracking code provided by MonsterInsights into the correct field on GA – this should only take a few minutes! Congratulations – now all that’s left is verifying that everything is working properly before moving onto other tasks!

Using Google Analytics with WordPress can give users powerful insights into their website’s performance and visitor behavior when used properly – but setting it up isn’t always straightforward or easy for those unfamiliar with web development terminology or coding languages like HTML or JavaScript. With our simple step-by-step guide though, anyone can set up their own analytics tools quickly and easily – no coding experience necessary! So what are you waiting for? Start taking advantage of all of these powerful insights today by following our guide above! Happy analyzing!
