How to Set Up HTTPS in cPanel

Setting up HTTPS on your website requires a few steps, but fortunately these steps are easy to accomplish with the help of cPanel. HTTPS stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure, and it’s a secure protocol that is used to protect data sent from your web server to the user’s computer. With the help of cPanel, you can easily set up HTTPS for your website in just a few steps.

Step 1: Purchase an SSL Certificate

The very first step in setting up HTTPS is to purchase an SSL certificate from a trusted provider. Once you have purchased the certificate, you will need to install it on your web server. This process varies depending on which hosting provider you are using, but it should be relatively straightforward.

Step 2: Install the Certificate in cPanel

Once you have purchased and installed the SSL certificate, you can then install it in cPanel. To do this, log into your cPanel account and navigate to the “Security” section. Under this section, select “SSL/TLS Manager” and click on “Generate, view or delete SSL certificates”. On this page, you will be able to upload the certificate file that you have purchased and install it on your web server.

Step 3: Activate Your Certificate

After installing the certificate in cPanel, you can then activate it by clicking on “Activate SSL On Site” under the “SSL/TLS Manager” section of your cPanel account. This will enable HTTPS for all pages of your website.

Step 4: Force HTTPS Redirection

The last step is to make sure that all requests to your website are redirected to use HTTPS instead of HTTP (the standard protocol). To do this, log into your cPanel account again and navigate to the “Domains” section. Under this section, select “HTTPS Redirects” and click on “Force HTTPS Redirection”. This will ensure that all requests sent from users’ browsers are redirected automatically from HTTP to HTTPS when they visit any page on your website.

Now that we have gone over how to force https redirects using cPanel, hopefully you feel confident about setting up HTTPS for your site without any issues! Using an SSL certificate is essential for keeping any sensitive information safe online – so make sure that if you haven’t already set one up yet – now’s the time! With just a few clicks within cPanel – setting up https redirection has never been easier! Thanks for reading!
